On Saturday, April 26th, Zhura, a Boston-based company offering a free online screenwriting tool, is sponsoring a Screenwriting Panel in celebration of the 6th annual 2008 Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFB).
As one of the country’s premier festivals for cutting-edge independent films, the IFFB celebrates the art of filmmaking by bringing together a community of creative film-enthusiasts from all over the world. Similarly, Zhura provides the only online community built specifically for performance writers, offering a single destination to share ideas and collaboratively develop material. Together, they showcase the power and significance of belonging to a community of creative, like-minded individuals.
Confirmed panelists include: Will Conroy, co-writer of “Transsiberian”; Amy Fox, writer of “Heights”; Jean-Paul Ouellette, director of H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Unnamable” and its sequel; and Elizabeth Stark, founder of the Harvard Free Culture group. The discussion will focus on industry hot topics such as new media solutions for writing and sharing creative work, formatting and form, and benefits and drawbacks of group collaboration. The event is completely free for all attendees.

I recently posted this info on our movie website, The Movie Fanatic, about a new book called Screen Plays, which tells the stories of how 25 different films made it from the idea stage to the screen. Jaden, since this is screenwriting related, I thought I would take the liberty to post our link here for those who may be interested in this book, and reading an interview with the writer.
