I think my choices if I were to choose would be both Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger for both passion and sensitivity. Both Jake and Heath really have had a knack for portraying sensitivity so effortlessly in their movies. Which was certainly quite evident in both their portrayal’s in Brokeback Mountain. I would also pick Daniel Day Lewis in your class section.

I agree on the most part. However for the ‘sensitivity’ section i may have been pulling Gosling for Michael Pitt….hmm, dunno, its a toughy. Casey Affleck has been majorly, majorly underrated for a very long time. hopefully there’s no stopping him now.

Casey affleck REALLY surprised me after I saw The Assassination of Jesse James … he played the character so well as if he wasnt acting at all.. i just hope he keeps the same standard in his next movies.

I have been fascinated with Gael Garcia Bernal from the time I watched him in Amores Perros. I think you have chosen the exact word to describe this talented actor- PASSION. In Motorcycle Diaries, I think he has stepped up and portrayed the role with such emotion and power that I was simply stunned. He is also quite an activist- he knows what he speaks of.

Ryan’s performance in Half Nelson is one of the best I have seen in years. I also thought he was awesome in The Notebook.

While I also would love to see Adam Brody and Michael Cera get into more challenging roles as comedians, I think Jason Biggs is in a class all by himself!

On Casey, indeed! Class!

I have to agree with what you said about Casey Affleck. He’s a little underrated, but he’s better than his brother Ben.
